Best Running Shoe Adidas has made yet

Before I start, I do not consider shoes like the ultraboost to actually be running shoes. They lack support at all levels. These are hands down the best shoes for running adidas has made This shoe completely obliterates it’s predecesor the supernova. The materials used throughout the shoe are higher quality than the supernova. There is more breath-ability w/o compromised support. There is more cushion when landing. My favorite feature is the tongue of the shoe. I don’t know how to describe it, but it is very comfortable (compared to past models), lower profile, and more supportive. I can’t say enough good things about this shoe. I tried out the step up from this shoe (solarglide) and found that this was a better trainer and it offers a stability version ... read more

Can't possibly wear them again

Made the arches of my feet hurt and ache really badly after my run and I feel I can't possibly run in these again. I have over 30 years running experience and have never known anything like this happen before. It's very disappointing having paid so much money for them. ... read more

Love the squidgy Boost technology, but was forced to send them back.

Absolutely perfect shoes. Love the colour and the squidgy boost technology. They were my first Boost shoes but I was forced to send them back. I had grown half or one size but strangely I felt perfect with 5.5 yet I am size 6. Felt like 6.5! Perfect. ... read more

Dissapointed...

I don't understand you guys... I buy from the same website, same size, same type (running shoes) as I did like a year ago and they are suddenly huge! They were a gift for my brother and I was very confident buying them thinking, obviously, that I could not go wrong with them. I cannot do much about it as he does not live in the UK and we cannot return them. The quality is as always great and my brother fell in love with them when he saw them but the size...he tried fitting 2 pairs of socks and see if it'll work but it still did not. I am actually really sorry about the whole situation, but it is beyond my understanding how you measure your sizes. ... read more

I wanted to LOVE this shoe

I couldn't wait until these were released. I love ADIDAS Supernova and when I ordered these I wanted to love them. The Solarboost is a comfortable shoe, however they felt big when I put them on. I wear 8.5 street shoe and ADIDAS Supernova is the only shoe that usually fit me perfectly. These shoes were wider than I'm used to. I do recommend them if you have the opportunity to try them on before you purchase them. Unfortunately, I did not keep these shoes and went back to the Supernova ... read more

Great shoe minus the outer shell.

I have had several pairs of the Adidas Supernova in the past and I loved the durability, comfort, fit, style, and overall quality of them. After recently trying a few other brands I decided I wanted to go back to Adidas for my fall marathons and decided the solarboost was a great option after trying them on at my local running store. They felt great. I ordered them a few weeks ago and have now done two runs in them and the sole and support is great as usual but the shell has an additional layer at the lacing section that applies a lot of pressure to the top of the foot no matter how tight or loose you lace the shoe. This for me caused blistering, bruising, and torn skin across the tops of both feet. I would encourage anyone looking to upgrade to the next level and not waste $160 like I did on something that hurts your feet like this. Great shoe if not for this defect. ... read more

Quality running shoes with just the right level of support

Have only done 30 miles in these so far, but I already love them. I was worried that they would not be as comfy as my previous uncaged UltraBosst shoes but they are just as comfy whilst providing much more support. If anything I would say they are a little tight. I am always a size 10 and these fit quite snuggly - I am glad I did not order a half size down as recommended. The shoes are quite warm and there is limited ventilation so will definitely be better in Autumn/Winter. ... read more

YAS!!!

Best shoes ever! I don't like the upper mesh knit material so this shoes does it for me, you still have the boost foam sole but upper totally closed and supportive. I have the problem with my feet sliding inside the shoes and end up with a hole where my little toe is in the previous ultraboost with knit material. Solarboost drastically improve this by the upper material hugging my feet perfectly and still allow stretching for comfort. I love everything about it, I use it to teach high impact class at the gym studio and running and walking. HIGHLY RECOMMENED if you have problem with the knit material, try this one! ... read more

Phenomenal!!!!

I believe these shoes are the replacement for the Supernovas. I was fan of the Supernovas and was a bit concerned with all the changes adidas made, but I'm happy to say I absolutely love these shoes. It addresses every single complaint brought up by customers regarding the Supernova. The tongue on the Solar Glide do not slide because of the non central position of the tongue's eyelet for the laces. The heel cup does a much better job at securing your heel in place. No heel slippage without any added discomfort. The Achilles region is more flexible and more comfortable than the already comfortable previous iterations. Adidas also improved on breathability and overall comfort of the upper. Another improvement is is the lockdown through the middle of your foot. Just be careful to not over tighten the laces as they create a lot of friction with the eyelets of the shoes, which helps securing your foot in place, but does take some effort to adjust the laces before your first run. It's smooth sailing after that first adjustment, though. One thing that I noticed, but only on my first 1/4 mile with these shoes was the edge of the tongue against my ankle. I thought that might become an issue before fully breaking in these shoes, but that feeling went away just a few minutes into my first run in them and has never returned. Although these weigh about the same as the Supernovas, these Solar Glide feel way more nimble and fast than its predecessor. The ride on the Solar Glide is a bit more responsive, and therefore ever so slightly harder, than the Supernova. To put it this way, the Supernova (Glide 9) distanced itself from the Supernova Glide 8 and got more similar to the Energy Boost (now Solar Boost). The Solar Glide go back to its roots and have a ride more in line with the award winning Solar Glide 8. It's still very soft, as it is a solid daily trainer, but now it has a noticeably faster transition as the forefoot of these shoes became slightly harder than its predecessor's. In short, these shoes are great for long runs and recovery runs, but will not let you down whenever you need or want to pick up the pace. These are my favorite daily trainers, but they are fast enough that I would race with these without hesitation. Adidas gets sometimes overlooked by runners because of the fanfare some adidas running get from casual wearers and sneaker heads. However, they should not overlook models like the Solar Glide or the Boston or many other models. These are absolutely phenomenal. I loved them so much that I even got a second pair for when I run my first Solar Glide to the ground. Even got it in the same colorway, as I find the blue/green color way amazingly beautiful. Just a small bonus to an already amazing running shoe. ... read more

Worth every penny!

After a number of pairs of UltraBoosts, which I love, I wasn't sure whether or not to try the SolarBoost, however, I am so glad I did. The additional support around the ankle is excellent with the same comfort and lightweight feel as the UltraBoost. As most reviews have mentioned, definitely buy a half size bigger. Other than that I highly recommend them. ... read more

Very light & supportive

I purchased the Solar Glides through a running store and was pleased that they were as light as advertised. Like many Adidas running shoes right now, they ran a bit big in terms of length. For reference, my true shoe size is a 10.5, I usually run in 11.0 shoes, and the Solar Glide fit great in a 10.0 (same as my other Boost runners). The forefoot was a bit narrow, but loosening up the laces helped. It would be great in the next iteration of this shoe to have just a tad more room in the forefoot. With that extra room, the shoe would be 5-star. If you like your Ultraboost/Boost runners, give these a try - more structured but remain light and supportive. ... read more

Excellent cushioning

I had previously run in various versions of Supernovas, and have always got on well with them. I thought I would give these a try as I start training for an autumn marathon. These trainers are very comfortable - I went for my first run in them over the weekend, and the cushioning is great. This wasn’t to the detriment of speed too, and I was impressed with the pace I was able to maintain. All good, and highly recommended ... read more

Best boost shoe I’ve ever worn!

I’ve always loved boost/ultra boosts, it’s hard to believe but I have over 15 pairs of adidas shoes which use the boost foam. This is by far my chosen #1, they do fit a little narrow however when you’re out running this doesn’t mater what’s so ever. Too narrow forefoot area for me

The sole and generally the whole shoe felt alright but it is just too narrow. My foot couldn't move at all it's just too tight. I tested it in the morning for about an hour running easy pace (12-13km). A good shoe has to be wide enough to have a little bit of extra room to make sure on a long evening run is still roomy enough. Otherwise the sizing felt similar to other running shoes I used in the past. I am a master marathon runner (3:22) running about 100km per week, with wider than average feet. ... read more

Clouds, floating just off the ground, but still responsive,

Nice shoe, pretty light, comfortable, you feel in control with no ankle roll. I like them, but they are new, and only had 2 runs in them... so let’s hope they are this good in 20 runs time. I hope Adidas will make a Trail shoe feel as good as the Solarboost. Hint hint ... read more

I would love this shoe . . . so much potential

The shoe fits like a glove and is very comfortable with one exception . . . right in front of the laces, on the inside of the shoe is a seam that hits the top, right side of my left foot (left side of my right foot) - I wore the shoes around the house for a day and on day 2 I noticed it was very uncomfortable like a piece of plastic was rubbing against the top of my foot. When I took the shoe off, I had a very red, visible red mark - there is no way I could run in these. I wanted to love this shoe, the sole is great, the fit is great (runs just a bit large in length but not too much). This would be a great performance shoe if they could fix that one problem. ... read more

Comfortable and Speedy

I bought a pair of the original Adidas boost, the only criticism was the heel counter which dug into my Achilles. So when the Ultra Boost were released it was as though Adidas had designed them especially for me with the soft heel that pulls away from the Achilles. The Solar Boost is a kind of cross between Ultra and Energy with the best features of both. I was tempted by and even bought a pair from a rival company with a similar new heel design but in truth it was nothing like what I'm used to with the boost and with limited flexibilty. They went back and I bought the Solar Boost. Good decision! Are Solar Boost as comfortable as Ultra Boost? Probably not but they are designed as a running shoe not a fashion accessory and it was good to lose the plastic cage of the Ultra Boost than can dig in to your feet. If there is one fault I would suggest its the wear of the outsole which will wear out way before any other feature. The outsole of the original energy boost still have plenty more wear in them five years later so it would be great if Adidas could sort this one out. ... read more

Another fab boost running shoe

Straight out of the box, these were incredibly comfortable on my first run. In fact I forgot I was wearing new shoes. I’m a big fan of Ultraboost, but the Solarboost reviews were so good, I thought them worth a try. I was not disappointed. Probably as much bounce as the Ultraboost but with the extra boost sole under the forefoot, the ride is very stable and supported. I followed other recommendations and ordered a 1/2 size larger than my usual- this was good advice as they are a perfect fit. The wider forefoot area might not be ideal for someone with a narrow foot, but I found it perfect. The only reason I didn’t give full marks was there was lots of evidence of glue between the upper and the boost sole. I’ve not noticed this before in my Adidas shoes (although is my first pair of black shoes). Hopefully they will be as durable as my previous pairs. I look forward to many hours out running in them! ... read more

Overall the best running shoes I ever put on.

Wearing them for a first time is like putting on a tightly wrapped, but comfortable sock on a cushion. The sock part holds your feet in place and it works during running like an elastic band, it is probably impossible to twist an ankle with these shoes, that's for sure. The general feeling is like stepping on a cloud with full stability and impressive responsiveness of this cushion. This boost must have improved a lot over the years, if I were to compare it to my old now shoes - supernova glide 6. The best shoes I ever put on so far. ... read more

Big upgrade from supernova but check insoles

Big adidas fan as I love the Boost technology. I wanted something lighter than my Supernovas for Race day long distance running and these are a really good update. Very comfortable and good bounce/response on them. Love the parley stitching as its much better than normal plastic on generic shoes. The only criticism i have is more of a personal one. As I use personalised orthotics I find the midsole is just a tad small (even being a half size bigger). Even though is does not cause discomfort, I highly recommend trying before buying (treadmill in store if you can. Also to wear a lighter sock as the shoe can get a bit hot if you have a thick sock. ... read more

A fantastic shoe!

The Solarboost is extremely comfortable and very responsive. It’s great as both a running or lifestyle shoe. Some online reviewers have stated that the shoe runs hot but I disagree. My only complaint is that I wish the shoe came with a different color set of laces. The secondary colors of the shoe really pop, wish the laces could’ve matched them. ... read more
