I bought these shoes for walking and trail running and to use for my trip to New Zealand. I’ve never owned trail shoes/ hiking shoes/ trail running shoes The grip is excellent on these shoes The foam is responsive and the shoe is very light These shoes are very good on flat sections for speed Be warned that there is minimal material around ankle and heel. They’re not built to be supportive, they’re built for speed. If I had my choice back I would opt for a shoe that has more support around the ankle but I can use these for road running so I’m not fussed
